Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark is on the brink of a suspension after receiving her seventh technical foul this season during a game against the Connecticut Sun. The incident occurred near the end of the third quarter when Olivia Nelson-Ododa of the Sun was fouled. Saniya Rivers, a teammate of Nelson-Ododa, confronted Clark about the game, prompting a response. The referees swiftly issued technical fouls to both players.
She said she was locking me up, so I said, ‘Scoreboard,’ and the ref didn’t like that,Clark shared with ESPN following the match.
Despite the risk of suspension, Clark remains committed to her aggressive playing style. She emphasized the importance of balancing intensity with her team’s needs.
Clark mentioned, “I think just continue to try to control your emotions the best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me, me, but also knowing my team needs me and finding a good balance of that.”
The match concluded with Indiana securing a victory, 123-88. Clark delivered an outstanding performance with 27 points and 11 assists in 27 minutes, successfully hitting five 3-pointers and achieving an 8-of-13 shooting record.
Currently, Clark ranks fourth in scoring and averages 21 points and 7.9 assists per game. Thanks to this win, Indiana holds a 17-10 record, placing them fifth in the WNBA standings.
On the other side, Diamond Miller led the Connecticut Sun with 15 points, while the Sun’s record fell to 7-20.
