Cassie Ventura’s Legal Battles and Testimony in Diddy Trial

Cassie Ventura left the United States after her testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial last summer, as reported by documents obtained by Fox News Digital. The singer served as a key witness in Diddy’s sex crimes trial, offering her testimony over four days. She recently filed a motion to change venues in a legal dispute with Clayton Howard, a former male escort.

Cassie, 39, was among the individuals named in a lawsuit filed last year by Howard, who accused Diddy and his former girlfriend of “sexual exploitation, trafficking, and abuse” that spanned a decade. In a motion submitted on May 1, Cassie advocated for moving the case from California to New York, highlighting the location of numerous similar claims against Diddy in New York courts.

“The plaintiff resides in New Jersey and can easily travel to New York City,” the documents revealed. “Ms. Ventura does not live in the United States, yet traveling to New York is more feasible for her than traveling to California. The corporations involved are also incorporated in New York.”

The motion noted that key events occurred in New York City, and more than two dozen civil cases related to Combs’ crimes are pending in New York, both in federal and state courts. Cassie emphasized that relevant witnesses likely reside near New York, making it a more suitable forum for the case. She requested the court transfer the claims under relevant U.S. Code sections.

In another filing, Cassie clarified her status: “I am a citizen of the United States,” and specified, “I am not a resident of the State of California.” She stressed her residence outside the U.S. and her preference to travel to New York if the case proceeds, as her legal team is based there, unlike California, where no parties involved reside.

Cassie’s legal representatives chose not to comment when approached by Fox News Digital. Cassie is known for her song “Me & U” and recently gave birth to her third child with husband Alex Fine. This took place shortly after providing crucial testimony against Bad Boy Records founder Diddy.

Cassie’s marriage to Fine, who was Diddy’s former personal trainer, began in 2019. The couple has two daughters, Frankie, five, and Sunny, four. In her court statements, Cassie accused Diddy of raping her in 2018 during the end of their relationship and discussed other traumatic experiences, including coerced sexual encounters.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office presented evidence in the Southern District of New York pertinent to Cassie’s allegations. She testified about the abuse in May 2025, including being physically assaulted during a “freak off,” a term used to describe forced sexual acts observed by Diddy.

Cassie also recounted her journey of seeking trauma therapy at the start of 2023 due to vivid flashbacks experienced while working on a music video. Furthermore, the court heard her claim of a forthcoming $10 million settlement from the InterContinental Hotel, where she was attacked by Diddy in 2016.

The trial of Diddy, which started on May 12, concluded on July 2 with a jury verdict that found him not guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking. However, he faced convictions on two lesser charges related to solicitation, resulting in a prison sentence exceeding four years at FCI Fort Dix. Diddy began his sentence after his September 16, 2024 arrest and is projected for release in February 2028.
