Indictment and Charges
KJ Biermann, a 15-year-old, faces serious legal charges. A Fulton County grand jury indicted him on multiple counts. These include child molestation and several charges related to sexual battery against a minor under 16. Additionally, he faces charges of aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment.
Initial Arrest and Charges
The arrest of KJ, son of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak, occurred following an incident in April. He initially faced two felony charges. The arrest took place in Alpharetta, Georgia, leading to charges of aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sodomy in August.
Legal Proceedings
KJ Biermann is charged as an adult due to Georgia’s SB440 law. This law applies to teenagers aged 13 to 17 when charged with certain violent felonies. Presently, KJ remains detained at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center, without bond, as he awaits a preliminary hearing set for September.
Response from Kim Zolciak
Kim Zolciak staunchly defended her son, denying the accusations. She claims her son had no involvement with the accuser or the alleged conduct. A voluntary polygraph test confirmed his claims, according to her. An examination also showed no DNA evidence linking KJ to the accusations. Zolciak points out that the accuser has made similar allegations against others, urging a thorough investigation.
Zolciak emphasizes the damaging impact of false accusations on both the accused and genuine survivors. She calls for careful consideration of all allegations, based on facts and evidence. She asks the public to allow the legal process to proceed without spreading unverified claims.
Family Background
KJ is the oldest son of Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann. Their family includes Kash, 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, 12. Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s daughters, Ariana and Brielle, from a previous relationship. In 2023, Zolciak and Biermann filed for divorce after over a decade of marriage.
