On September 11, 2026, Chicago and its surrounding communities marked the 25-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The solemn event took place at Navy Pier, where numerous tributes were paid to honor those affected by the tragedy.
A significant highlight of the remembrance included a section of a World Trade Center beam from a traveling exhibit, prominently displayed for attendees. Firefighters from Chicago, alongside elected officials and citizens, gathered to pay homage to the victims of the terrorist attacks.
