Children’s Toys Recalled Due to Safety Hazards

Concerns about serious injury risks have prompted the recall of popular children’s squeeze toys containing beads, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). These toys, if ingested, could cause severe health issues.

Recalled Toys

The recall affects two products: Squeezy Dumplings, sold by GIHNJSI, and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns from OKK Trading. Both contain water beads that can expand inside a child’s body, potentially causing choking, intestinal obstruction, severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and even the risk of death.

Squeezy Dumplings were sold on Amazon in May and June, characterized by round, squishy balls decorated with cartoon faces and glitter-like particles. Packaged in bamboo steamer-like containers, they bear labels saying “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME.” Approximately 8,000 units have been recalled.

Similarly, about 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns sold in third-party stores between May and August are affected. They also feature cartoon faces and glitter, with packaging marked “Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION.”

Disposal and Refund Process

For those possessing these toys, the CPSC advises marking them “RECALLED” and disposing of them. Send a disposal photo to [email protected] for Squeezy Dumplings, or [email protected] for Squishy Buns, to receive a full refund. No injuries have been reported yet.

Non-Recalled Toy Advisory

A similar toy from Ivyapingdianpu, not yet recalled, also contains problematic water beads threatening child safety. Despite receiving a notice of violation, the company hasn’t agreed to a recall or consumer remedy. The CPSC advises immediate cessation of use of these. Approximately 100 of these toys sold via Amazon in June need urgent disposal.

Report any related injuries or defects to the CPSC. Officials emphasize immediate disposal to prevent harm.
