Chris Hemsworth’s recent vacation with his family in Costa Rica became quite dramatic when their plane encountered a lightning storm. The 42-year-old actor, known for his role in ‘Thor,’ shared the unsettling moment in a YouTube vlog. Footage highlighted the storm with flashes of lightning and turbulence impacting the aircraft.
Visible concern appeared on Hemsworth’s face as he silently reacted to the situation. In the video caption, he described the flight as a ‘crazy plane ride.’ Despite the scare, the flight concluded safely.
The Hemsworth family’s trip didn’t end there. They enjoyed several adventurous activities like surfing, riding ATVs, cliff jumping, fishing, and waterfall hiking. In one instance, Elsa Pataky, Hemsworth’s wife, humorously pushed him into a waterfall.
The couple, together since their 2010 marriage, shares three children—daughter India and twin sons Sasha and Tristan. They frequently engage in outdoor pursuits, both in Australia and abroad.
This incident occurred years after Hemsworth revealed his approach to work and family changed due to a health discovery during the filming of National Geographic’s ‘Limitless.’ Genetic testing in the series showed he carries two APOE4 gene copies, increasing his Alzheimer’s disease risk.
After news of this revelation in 2022, rumors surfaced about his potential retirement, angering Hemsworth. He clarified that this was misinterpreted as a death sentence. In a 2024 Vanity Fair interview, he expressed frustration, noting how others misunderstood his vulnerability about his health. Despite the concerns, he maintained a sense of humor, sharing a lighthearted remark from a reader about hoping ‘Chris forgets he’s retiring and comes back.’
