Chris Jericho’s Impact in AEW and Wrestling Legacy

Chris Jericho returned triumphantly to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) programming in April, settling speculation about his contract status. Jericho’s presence initiated a feud with The Demand. Later that month, he competed against Ricochet at Dynasty, setting the stage for a more extensive clash at Double or Nothing.

The anticipated event will feature a Stadium Stampede Match. Jericho, alongside Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Kenny Omega, Jack Perry, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson, will face off against Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona, Mark Davis, Andrade El Idolo, Clark Connors, and David Finlay.

“Chris Jericho is one of the last remaining pro wrestling legends still active full-time,” remarked AEW star MVP. He shared his views with Fox News Digital, emphasizing Jericho’s lasting influence in wrestling history.

MVP expressed admiration for Jericho’s career, especially his impact on international wrestling. Jericho’s journey includes time in WWE, WCW, NJPW, CMLL, ECW, and ROH. MVP highlighted Jericho’s well-rounded skills—his ability to cut promos, perform great matches, and maintain his health without major injuries.

Jericho’s resume includes the title of undisputed champion. MVP underscored the significant figures Jericho has competed against on his path to prominence.

The upcoming match will be Jericho’s third Stadium Stampede appearance, adding to his legacy. He participated in the original match at Double or Nothing in 2020, teaming with Matt Hardy, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz against Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page, and The Young Bucks.

In 2021, Jericho joined Hager, Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz again to battle MJF, Wardlow, Shawn Spears, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler. His record in these matches stands at 1-1.

Double or Nothing is scheduled to take place at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The pre-show starts at 7 p.m. ET, with the main card following at 8 p.m. ET.
