A civilian was detained following a violent encounter with security personnel at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. This incident occurred on Saturday, according to the 6th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs Office.
The civilian breached the perimeter of the Tampa base around 1 p.m. and engaged in a physical altercation with security officers. Both a security officer and the civilian sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the confrontation, as reported by FOX 13 and WTSP-TV.
The base announced on Facebook at approximately 2:30 p.m. that the Dale Mabry Gate was closed to both inbound and outbound traffic until further notice. Residents and visitors were advised to adjust plans accordingly and avoid the area.

Police officers from the Tampa Police Department were on site, blocking traffic along South Dale Mabry Highway near the main entrance to the base due to the incident.
There is an ongoing investigation, and further details regarding the motive behind the attack are not yet clear. The FBI has noted that a source of a recent job portal breach remains unidentified, amidst allegations that employee data was compromised.
MacDill Air Force Base, located in Tampa, serves as the headquarters for the U.S. Central Command.
