All Elite Wrestling (AEW) continues to innovate with unique matches. Fans are already familiar with Stadium Stampede, Anarchy in the Arena, and Blood and Guts. Now, a new match is set to debut at WrestleDream during Saturday’s “Collision.”
Introducing Clockwork Carnage
This match features eight wrestlers, who compete in two distinct stages. The match begins with two randomly selected participants. Every three minutes, another wrestler joins the competition. Pinned or submitted wrestlers are eliminated as new ones join until all eight are in the ring.
Once the eighth wrestler has entered, there’s a 15-minute scoring period. During this phase, each pinfall or submission earns a fall. The wrestler with the most falls at the end of the period wins the match.
Champion’s Challenge
Adding more excitement, AEW World Champion Will Ospreay will defend his title in the Clockwork Carnage match. Ospreay secured the championship by defeating Kenny Omega at All In. Before WrestleDream, he must successfully retain his title against Kazuchika Okada at Grand Slam France.
Jack Perry and Samoa Joe are also in contention to enter the match. Joe returned to AEW at All Out after a brief break.
Event Details
WrestleDream is scheduled for October 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. This new match format promises to add fresh excitement to AEW’s lineup.
