Rep. Chris Pappas of New Hampshire is leaving his position to campaign for the Senate. This has created an opportunity that has drawn interest from both political parties, eager to fill the vacated seat.
For the Democrats, the contenders include Maura Sullivan, who has a background as a Marine Corps veteran and served in the Obama administration. Also vying for the position is Stefany Shaheen, recognized for her work as a former Portsmouth City Council member. She is notably the daughter of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who also represents New Hampshire.
