Danielle Fishel Embraces Weightlifting, Cast Reflects on ‘Boy Meets World’

Danielle Fishel, known for her role as Topanga Lawrence in the 1990s hit ‘Boy Meets World’, has shared the key to her current wellness routine. She has shifted away from traditional cardio exercises, focusing instead on weightlifting to enhance her overall health and appearance.

Fishel discussed her fitness journey during an appearance at the 2026 Tribeca Festival, where she was promoting her newest project ‘Doc Meets World’. She explained to Fox News Digital that she prioritizes weightlifting and complements it with daily walks of 20 to 30 minutes after meals.

Weightlifting has made all the difference. I don’t do cardio anymore. I like to walk for 20 to 30 minutes after every meal, but I lift them weights, and it has made all the difference, Fishel stated, focusing on her new workout regimen.

The 45-year-old actress joins many celebrities who now favor strength training over long cardio sessions. This shift aims to build muscle and sustain long-term wellness.

Fishel’s fitness insights emerged at Tribeca, where she reunited with fellow ‘Boy Meets World’ actors Rider Strong and Will Friedle. The reunion offered a chance to reflect on their experiences growing up in the public eye.

Rider Strong, who played Shawn in the series, reminisced about his connection with Ben Savage, praising the actor’s skills and their close working relationship. Strong mentioned the valuable lessons he learned from Savage during their time on set.

He was so talented, and he taught me how to be a child actor, Strong recalled, emphasizing their professional bond and Savage’s influence.

‘Boy Meets World’ aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000, captivating audiences for seven seasons. The cast openly discussed their sometimes strained relationships, using platforms like the ‘Pod Meets World’ podcast to share other perspectives on past events.

Reflecting on the challenges of child stardom, Will Friedle, who portrayed Eric Matthews, spoke about considering a departure from Hollywood. He admitted that the unpredictability made him contemplate leaving the industry several times.

There’s times I think we were all at one point considering running away from Hollywood, Friedle revealed, highlighting the challenges behind the glamour of showbiz.

Despite the difficulties, Friedle eventually found a reason to remain in the entertainment field.

The love of needing to entertain, Friedle said, affirming his passion for performing and the reason for his continued involvement.
