Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, has responded to criticism from Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley. Reddington disagrees with Turley’s comments on his public statements about the lone holdout juror in Clancy’s murder trial.
Reddington’s Response
Reddington expressed his willingness to debate Turley on the issue. In an interview with Fox News correspondent Bryan Llenas, Reddington said, “I’d like to meet with him sometime and maybe debate a few things.” He was reacting to Turley’s earlier remarks, in which Turley described Reddington’s comments about the juror as “utterly reprehensible.”
Turley’s Criticism
Llenas quoted Turley’s statement that attacking the juror was “a breathtaking abandonment of restraint and decency.” Turley accused Reddington of putting a target on the juror’s back for not being convinced by his arguments. Reddington countered, suggesting Turley should review the case record before making such accusations.
Ongoing Public Dispute
The disagreement continues following the Clancy trial, where Reddington criticized the lone holdout juror. Turley has reiterated the ethical responsibility lawyers have not to incite public rage against jurors who exercise independent judgment. Reddington claims the juror did not adhere to the judge’s instructions, supporting his criticism with new information.
