The Department of Justice has issued a warning to state election officials regarding the casting of votes by noncitizens. The department has threatened to arrest more than a dozen state election officials if any votes are cast by noncitizens in their states. This warning was delivered through a letter that demanded election officials to outline, within five days, their strategy for adhering to laws on noncitizen voting.

Amna Nawaz conducted a discussion with Jessica Huseman from Votebeat, who obtained access to the letter, shedding light on this issue. Nawaz is known for her role as co-anchor and co-managing editor of PBS News Hour.
