El-Sayed Challenges Mike Rogers After Michigan Primary Win

Abdul El-Sayed, a progressive candidate, has emerged victorious in the Democratic Senate primary in Michigan, defeating opponent Haley Stevens. This comes as Soros-linked funding plays a significant role in key Democratic campaigns as election season draws near.

Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II, both backed by the Soros network, have distributed over $40 million to Democratic allies according to campaign finance records. Notable beneficiaries include the Senate Majority PAC and the House Majority PAC, which have received substantial contributions.

El-Sayed, who emphasizes removing money from politics, benefits indirectly from Soros-linked contributions to the Michigan Senate race through various Democratic groups. In the primary, El-Sayed aligned himself with the Democratic Socialists of America, advocating for healthcare and border policy reforms.

George Soros, founder of the Open Society Foundations, maintains significant influence in political spending. Senate Majority PAC alone has received $9 million from Soros-funded entities, pledging $30 million to support El-Sayed in Michigan.

“The fundamental corruption of our politics is the system that allows corporations and wealthy individuals to buy politicians,” said El-Sayed during a 2025 interview, as he promised to prioritize economic policies and healthcare reforms.

Mike Rogers’ campaign criticized El-Sayed, alleging hypocrisy in his stance on political donations, accusing him of accepting funds from influential billionaires while publicly condemning such practices.

Further details on the Soros family’s 2026 political spending will be revealed as more campaign finance reports become available. The Soros network has funded progressive prosecutor campaigns, efforts to reform the criminal justice system, and anti-racism initiatives within law enforcement.

Other organizations receiving Soros-linked support include Fair Fight, founded by Stacey Abrams, and the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund. During this political cycle, Democratic governors in Pennsylvania and Virginia also received financial backing from Soros-related groups.

The extent of Soros’ political influence will be clearer once full financial disclosures are made, as much spending is processed through 501(c)(4) nonprofits that reveal information much later.
