An electrical fire erupted at TikTok’s headquarters located in Culver City, leading to an evacuation on Wednesday afternoon. This incident occurred in the seven-story office tower on Bristol Parkway, where approximately 1,000 employees are accommodated.
Individuals inside the building reported hearing loud bangs and experienced power loss as the fire broke out. Some employees required assistance to be rescued from elevators that had stalled during the power outage.
The Culver City Police Department’s spokesperson, Jennifer Atenza, stated that emergency personnel from both the police and fire departments promptly arrived at the scene at 2:14 p.m. They evacuated the building as firefighters worked to put out the fire. The blaze, believed to have started due to electrical issues on the first floor, was rapidly contained by the firefighters.
There were no reported injuries and no signs of arson. Structural and electrical damages are being assessed by a building engineer alongside Southern California Edison staff.
TikTok had consolidated its Los Angeles operations into the Culver City site in 2020, occupying five floors of the 120,000-square-foot building. The facility is equipped with studios and murals designed for content creators.
