Devin Pearson, the Nationals’ assistant general manager, witnessed a showcase of Willits’ competitive spirit. During a rain delay with the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the team’s High-A affiliate, Willits was found playing golf inside the visiting clubhouse in Jersey City.
