Family Expresses Gratitude After Kyle Busch’s Passing

The family of Kyle Busch, the two-time NASCAR champion who passed away at 41, has reached out to thank supporters for their overwhelming compassion. Samantha Busch, Kyle’s wife, shared a heartfelt message on behalf of their family via Instagram, including their children, Brexton and Lennix.

“The prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives,” Samantha wrote. “While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you.”

Kyle Busch died on May 21 due to severe pneumonia that developed into sepsis, as noted by the family shortly after his passing. The death certificate indicated he suffered from pneumonia for “days to weeks.” His unexpected death shocked the NASCAR community.

Despite his illness, Busch continued to race. On May 10, he reported feeling unwell during the Watkins Glen event. He later won the Truck Series race at Dover and finished 17th in the All-Star race just before his passing. He also participated in the opening of a go-kart track with his son Brexton days before his death.

Samantha’s message was the family’s first public statement since Kyle’s passing. “The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain,” she stated. She expressed gratitude for the way people honored Kyle through acts of generosity, highlighting his impact on others.

She continued, “There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry. Yet, time and time again, God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone.” The family thanked everyone, from relatives and friends to fans and strangers, for their support and love.

Kyle Busch was a celebrated figure in NASCAR, renowned for winning Cup Series championships in 2015 and 2019 while racing for Joe Gibbs Racing. The brother of NASCAR driver Kurt Busch, he set a record with 234 combined wins across NASCAR’s top three national series, including 63 Cup victories, 102 O’Reilly Auto Parts wins, and 69 Truck victories.
