Unfortunate Incident at T-Mobile Park

Attending a Major League Baseball game requires constant alertness. A fan learned this rule the hard way over the weekend. Jamie Golla, attending the game between the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres at T-Mobile Park, Seattle, was struck by a foul ball.

Sitting in the lower bowl on the third-base side, Golla was enjoying the game with her friend. Her friend captured a selfie video, showing Sung-mun Song at bat for San Diego in the fifth inning. Unexpectedly, the video transformed into a distressing record when a foul ball struck Golla’s head.

A Painful Moment

The impact sound of the baseball hitting Golla’s skull is alarming. It wasn’t an ordinary foul ball either. Spectators around her did not attempt to catch it, but rather hoped the ball wouldn’t injure someone. Unfortunately, Golla experienced the painful encounter.

Following the incident, Golla required medical treatment and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. She shared her post-accident condition with the New York Post, mentioning minor headaches and swelling. Despite the unexpected viral status of the video, she appreciated others checking on her well-being.

Support from the Mariners

In the aftermath, a Mariners staff member reached out to Golla, offering her and her friends tickets to another game as a supportive gesture.

Regrettably, the game ended without a score for the Mariners, as they lost to the Padres 2-0.
