A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening at a Home Depot parking lot in Covina, leading to a fatal shooting. Police reported that the violence erupted during a child custody exchange.
Officers received a call about the shooting at 6:06 p.m. The event took place at Home Depot located at 963 West Badillo Street. A significant number of people had gathered for the custody swap. Initial investigations by Covina police revealed that the situation escalated from an argument between two males.
The verbal dispute intensified, resulting in one individual drawing a firearm and shooting the other. Despite receiving immediate medical assistance, the victim succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the location.
The alleged shooter was apprehended by the police without resistance. The Covina Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
