Stone Romberg, a devoted father and Atlanta native, tragically lost his life while trying to rescue a seagull. He died on Sunday after being swept away by an ocean current in the Florida Panhandle.
Romberg, age 31, noticed a seagull entangled in his fishing line while fishing near his home. In a brave effort, he swam out to save the bird. Unfortunately, his attempt turned fatal as the hook and bird became stuck to his hand. While trying to return to shore, the ocean current pulled him further out to sea, resulting in his tragic death.

Romberg was the manager of chair services at a local condominium, remembered fondly by the community. A Facebook page for his workplace highlighted his kind nature and dedication, stating he will be remembered for his kind heart, hard work, and willingness to always lend a hand.
The GoFundMe, created to assist his family financially, has raised $138,714 as of Thursday afternoon. Stone Romberg leaves behind his wife Taylor and their two daughters, aged one and three.
Aside from his devoted family life, Romberg was a passionate fan of SEC football and the Atlanta Braves.
