The FBI took action last week by arresting an OpenAI employee after a recording device was found in their office. The discovery raised serious security concerns.
Abdulrahman Alfozan, a 35-year-old from Saudi Arabia, has been working at OpenAI since July 2025. Authorities arrested him on October 9. This week, he appeared in federal court.
According to the Justice Department, Alfozan faces charges of using a listening device to intercept oral communications. The arrest followed the finding of the device in an executive conference room within OpenAI’s premises.
