FDA Issues High-Risk Warning for Recalled Salad Products

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued the highest risk warning for several recalled salad products due to possible contamination. New York-based Made Fresh Salads had previously announced a voluntary recall in September. This includes ready-to-eat deli-style salads, various cream cheese products, and half-size aluminum pans. The concern is the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

The FDA has classified this recall under Class I, indicating a significant risk. A Class I recall suggests a ‘reasonable probability’ of serious health consequences or death if the products are consumed. A total of 61 products have been recalled and labeled accordingly.

The distribution of these products occurred in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and New York City. They were delivered directly to retail outlets and distributors. The FDA has advised caution in these areas.

This situation remains under development. Further updates will provide more information as it becomes available.
