Recently, Fox News Digital obtained footage showing federal agents conducting operations linked to a multi-state Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation. This probe led to criminal charges against individuals for illegal voting, falsifying citizenship status, and related election fraud offenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Wisconsin.
These charges are part of a broad effort by the Trump administration to identify election-related crimes as the 2026 midterms approach. Over the past year, the Justice Department has initiated lawsuits in nearly 30 states to gain access to confidential voter rolls. Additionally, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), traditionally focused on cartels and terrorism, has been tasked with identifying unlawfully registered non-citizens.
“Despite claims to the contrary by some media and Democrats, evidence of non-citizens registering and voting continues to accumulate,” stated White House spokesperson Lauren Bis to Fox News Digital. “Non-citizens found voting will face consequences. Only Americans should elect American leaders.”
The Justice Department announced Friday that five individuals were federally charged with crimes including unlawfully casting ballots, falsifying citizenship status, and other related offenses during the 2022 and 2024 elections. Charges against these individuals may result in over ten years of prison time if convicted. Among them is Katya Rodriguez from Mexico, who was charged with illegal voting and falsifying her citizenship status in the 2024 election in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Federal enforcement by the Trump administration occurred shortly after a report from New Jersey officials revealing that a software error mistakenly registered approximately 6,600 non-citizens to vote, with around 400 casting ballots. Earlier, Homeland Security identified over 250,000 registered noncitizens across four states: California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Nevada.
Homeland Security Investigations recently launched operations targeting non-citizens suspected of election interference in nine states, including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. These actions reflect ongoing federal efforts to tackle illegal voting and strengthen public confidence in election integrity.
“Homeland Security Investigations is committed to safeguarding our election systems and investigating allegations of unlawful voting and related crimes,” said HSI Acting Executive Associate Director John A. Condon. “The American public deserves assurance that elections are protected from fraud, and offenders will be held accountable.”
