Federal Standards Revision and Impact on Contractors

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently updated federal standards for immigration detention centers. Released on Monday, these new standards could potentially aid Geo Group in its legal defense, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Last week, shadows of detainees were visible at the Delaney Hall immigration detention center in Newark, showcasing the facility’s conditions. Michael M. Santiago from Getty Images captured these images.

During the revision of these regulations, one of ICE’s primary contractors requested certain changes. This move, reportedly intended to align with its business interests, was disclosed by an individual briefed on the discussions.
