A Florida mother faced an unexpected situation when she found her 3-week-old daughter on the couch. The mother’s realization of what had happened came after reviewing her security camera footage.
Jessica Fortner, along with her son Greyson and daughter Everleigh, was staying with a friend when the surprising event unfolded. According to Fortner, “That morning was just like any other since having our daughter.” Her partner was away for work, leaving her to manage parenting duties alone.

Everleigh was asleep in her bassinet, secured with a zip-up mesh cover, while Greyson was engaged with other activities. Fortner stepped away to use the bathroom. Despite hearing a brief fuss from Everleigh, she was unworried as her daughter had always been a cheerful baby.
Her return to the living room was met with surprise, seeing Everleigh resting on the couch. Quickly, it dawned on Fortner that Greyson had unzipped the bassinet and placed Everleigh on the couch. The method behind how he managed to carry her remained puzzling.

Though grateful for having security footage, Fortner found watching the video challenging. It depicted Greyson carrying Everleigh across the room. “I was holding my breath the entire time,” Fortner recalled, expressing relief upon seeing Everleigh safely on the couch but also concern about Greyson’s handling.

Despite Greyson’s limited speech, he managed to explain his actions simply: “I help Sissy.” Fortner’s perspective on the footage evolved over time, becoming less frightening and more of a fascinating family story.
