Gregg Allman, a revered musician in the music industry, is the subject of a fresh documentary titled The Music of My Soul. This film has premiered in New York City and features a diverse range of music.

A prominent part of the film includes a song by country artist Jackson Dean. Titled My Cross to Bear, the song plays at the movie’s conclusion. It is a tribute to Allman, capturing the essence of his contributions to the Allman Brothers Band and iconic songs like Midnight Rider, Whipping Post, and I’m No Angel.

Gregg Allman’s music is woven into the fabric of American culture, and this film captures both the artistry and the humanity behind the legend, stated Brian Levy of Subtext. We’re proud to bring the film to American audiences, offering devoted fans rare insight and archival material while introducing Gregg’s legacy to a new generation.

Subtext, a U.S. independent film company, has acquired the North American rights to this film. Michael Lehman, a close friend of Allman, expressed his sentiments, stating, I am honored to have worked with Gregg and to have called him my dear friend. This film captures his true essence, and it’s profoundly meaningful to be able to share his remarkable story with the world. Gregg’s music has outlived him and will bring joy to many generations in the future.
