Improved Interview Dynamics: Holly Rowe and Steve Sarkisian

The latest interaction between ESPN reporter Holly Rowe and Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian unfolded differently from their previous encounter. In a past game, after Texas’ exciting 24-23 comeback win, Sarkisian abruptly left before Rowe could conduct an interview, visibly unsettling the reporter. However, prior to the high-stakes match between No. 1 Texas and No. 14 Tennessee at Neyland Stadium, Rowe successfully conducted a pre-game interview with Sarkisian.

During this interaction, Rowe mentioned Arch Manning’s renowned uncle, Peyton Manning, and his performances at Neyland Stadium. Rowe then asked Sarkisian about his advice to Arch Manning for making his mark in the game. Sarkisian responded confidently, emphasizing the team effort.

“This is his moment. I want him to go out and have fun with his teammates. This team has been great all year. They need to play great together,” Sarkisian remarked.

Rowe expressed gratitude, and Sarkisian reciprocated as he returned to his sideline. The earlier postgame interview with Sarkisian after the Ohio State game had gained viral attention. Manning mentioned an AI video which humorously exaggerated that interaction, sparking laughter in the press room. Manning later apologized for his comments.

Sarkisian clarified the previous incident, citing ESPN’s technical delays and his eagerness to celebrate the victory with his team. He firmly stated that his relationship with Rowe is positive, tracing back to his own college days at BYU.

Looking forward, Sarkisian expressed his hope for another successful postgame interview with Rowe should the Longhorns prevail over Tennessee. At the last report, Texas was leading Tennessee 7-3 in the first quarter.
