Investigation Underway After Concertgoer Dies Following Warped Tour Event

An investigation is ongoing after a man who attended the Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach on July 26 was hospitalized and died a few days later. The incident involved David Granado Jr., who was at the festival with his girlfriend, brother, and friends.

According to a GoFundMe campaign set up by his family, Granado suffered a traumatic and ultimately fatal brain injury during the event. His family is still trying to understand the events leading to his hospitalization.

The Long Beach Police Department reported that a preliminary investigation found no evidence of foul play. However, detectives are actively pursuing further inquiries to determine any criminal activity. The Los Angeles County medical examiner is tasked with establishing the cause of death.

Efforts to obtain information from the Vans Warped Tour organizers regarding the incident were unsuccessful. The event is part of a series marking its 30th anniversary, with upcoming performances scheduled in Montreal, Mexico City, Orlando, Washington, D.C., and a return to Long Beach next year.

The Warped Tour is known for its mix of punk, ska, and rock music, drawing large crowds since its inception. As the investigation proceeds, authorities continue to explore the circumstances surrounding Granado’s injury and subsequent death.
