Israel Escalates Military Actions Against Hezbollah in Lebanon

Israel intensified its military operations against Hezbollah on Tuesday. The strikes targeted areas throughout Lebanon, following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s directive to “increase the blows” against the militant group.

The Israeli army reported that it targeted over 100 Hezbollah sites during the night in southern and eastern Lebanon. These included weapons storage sites and command centers. Additionally, an evacuation warning was issued for the city of Nabatieh, indicating impending airstrikes.

Reports from Lebanon’s health ministry indicated that overnight attacks in Mashghara, located in the Bekaa Valley, resulted in at least 11 deaths, including two children. The Israeli military did not provide a comment on these strikes.

“We are at war with Hezbollah,” Mr. Netanyahu stated in a video on Monday night. He emphasized his command for the military to “press on the pedal even more.”

Conflict between the groups reignited in March, after Hezbollah launched rockets across the border in support of Iran. This followed a U.S.-Israeli offensive against Iran. While a U.S.-mediated cease-fire took effect in April, intermittent attacks have persisted, with both groups alleging truce violations.

The tension in Lebanon grows as efforts by President Trump and Iranian officials suggest progress toward resolving the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.
