In a strategic effort to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure, Israeli forces continue their presence in the buffer zone of southern Lebanon. This military action brings to mind the restrictions seen in the West Bank.
As cars travel along the coastal road in southwestern Lebanon, various flags are visible. First, the yellow and green of Hezbollah, followed by the red, white, and green of Iran. Finally, near the border, the blue and white flag of Israel marks the area’s tense geopolitical divide.
