Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy Award winner, will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Puck News reports that Jay-Z has chosen himself over other finalists like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. Harry Styles was also mentioned as a contender.
Since 2019, Jay-Z and his company, Roc Nation, have managed the Super Bowl halftime show production. Despite having not performed at the Super Bowl before, Jay-Z’s wife, BeyoncĂ©, headlined the 2013 halftime show and appeared in 2016 alongside Bruno Mars and Coldplay.
Jay-Z is concluding his four-city tour with two shows at SoFi Stadium on October 23 and 24. The tour celebrates the 30th anniversary of his debut album, ‘Reasonable Doubt.’ It has earned over $42 million, with significant ticket sales at Yankee Stadium in July.
Although Jay-Z’s last album, ‘4:44,’ came out in 2017, he recently re-released his 2000 single ‘I Just Wanna Love U.’ He remains popular, boasting 50.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, where he ranks as the 71st most-listened-to artist.
Super Bowl LXI will be on February 14, and fans eagerly anticipate Jay-Z’s halftime performance.
