Jessie Cave, best known for her role in the Harry Potter films, has revealed how joining OnlyFans drastically improved her financial situation. In a discussion with The Times, the 39-year-old actress spoke about the earnings she has made from the platform, explaining that within a year, she has surpassed her entire acting career income.
Initially, Cave anticipated a modest income, hoping for enough to support her and her family through a transitional period. However, after more than a year, the platform has proven to be a significant financial lifeline.
I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months, and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do. But it’s now been over a year and a half, and it’s genuinely saved our lives.
For $6 a month, subscribers can access non-explicit videos of Cave styled in costumes as she brushes and styles her hair. This novel concept has turned into a substantial source of income, with Cave reportedly earning over $20,000 in a single day.
Cave’s acting career includes playing Lavender Brown in three Harry Potter films from 2009 to 2011, along with guest appearances in productions such as “Black Mirror” and “Industry.” Her move to OnlyFans followed a failed audition callback and the need to financially support her four children.
I couldn’t go and, say, work in a supermarket because I can’t afford the childcare, and also I don’t want people shouting Harry Potter spells at me as I work at Tesco.
She explained that the OnlyFans platform, often associated with adult content, offers a variety of experiences, including cooking and personal training, albeit with an edgy twist. For Cave, the transformation helped combat feelings of invisibility and offered a new form of empowerment.
In March 2025, Cave communicated her decision to try OnlyFans through her Substack account, primarily motivated by financial pressures and the chance to regain financial stability.
I’ll try for one year. My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof etc. My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love.
