Justin Herbert, quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, and singer-songwriter Madison Beer have announced their engagement. The couple shared the news on Instagram with a photo showing Herbert proposing to Beer, who appeared delighted in the image. The two captioned it with ‘Meet my fiancé.’
The news was met with congratulations from notable sources including the NFL and the Chargers, along with singer Gracie Abrams.
Herbert and Beer were initially seen together last August. Beer attended several Chargers games last season and shared public moments with Herbert, including a kiss on the sidelines. Their joint appearances extended to Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers games as well.
Herbert also featured in Beer’s ‘lovergirl’ music video earlier this year. Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh showed his support for the relationship. When Herbert skipped part of the offseason to join Beer on tour, Harbaugh humorously offered assistance, asking if he needed a ride to the airport.
Herbert, 28, begins his seventh season with the Chargers, who have yet to claim a playoff victory under his lead. He will start training camp on Wednesday.
Beer, aged 27, began her rise to fame when Justin Bieber promoted a video of her singing in 2012. She released her first single the following year, featuring Bieber. Beer received Grammy nominations in 2024 and 2025 but has expressed her struggles with social anxiety.
