Kai Trump recently captivated fans with her pick for “song of the year.” In a YouTube and TikTok video, the 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump discussed a question that caught her off guard: selecting a song that defined the past year. She laughed as she recounted saying, “I just said ‘Rolling in the Deep’ by Adele.”
“Rolling in the Deep,” released in 2010, marked Adele’s breakout moment. The song not only topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks but also became a global sensation. In 2012, it won three Grammy Awards, including record and song of the year. It remains one of Adele’s signature hits, alongside “Someone Like You” and “Hello.”
In an earlier YouTube Q&A, Kai mentioned “Rolling in the Deep” as a favorite. Other songs she loves include “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses and “House of Balloons” by the Weeknd. Expressing fondness for The Weeknd’s music, she added “After Party” and “Wicked Games” to her list.
Kai often shares personal preferences with fans, covering topics from music to hobbies, on social media. During an interview, she disclosed a shift in her celebrity crush. “Outer Banks” star Drew Starkey was her previous choice, but she highlighted Theo James as her new favorite. “He’s very attractive,” she noted about James.
In a past YouTube video, she revealed Starkey as her crush, showing off her candid personality. She exclaimed, “I’m gonna blush right now!” while reacting to her own confession.
Kai, who often golfs with her grandfather, is set to join the University of Miami’s women’s golf team. She mentioned that having her grandfather in office has complicated her dating life. “It’s not easy, to be honest with you, but, you know, you gotta live life,” she remarked, emphasizing living as normally as possible.
The oldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump begins her collegiate career this fall and is looking forward to balancing golf and academics.
