Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson faces a crucial year in his standout NFL career. At 29, Jackson commented on the passage of time, saying, “Going into Year 9, it’s like, man, time is ticking.” He spoke to Evan Washburn from CBS Sports last week, expressing urgency for success. “You’re only getting older. I’m not getting younger. I’m seeing a lot of new faces in the league and different guys we’re surrounded with,” Jackson noted.
He emphasized his desire to win, stating, “Time is ticking, and the urgency is always high level. Once I get one [Super Bowl ring], it will still be urgent to get another.” Jackson needs strong performances from his receivers to improve his playoff record. He spent time bonding with receivers Zay Flowers and Ja’Kobi Lane. They enjoyed a roller coaster at the Mall of America, capturing their fun on Jackson’s Instagram Story.
The Ravens are in Minnesota for a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings. They will face each other in a preseason game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Saturday. Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP and three-time All-Pro, aims to bounce back from a challenging season marked by injuries. Last season, he played 13 games, and Baltimore ended with an 8-9 record, missing the playoffs. This led to the dismissal of longtime head coach John Harbaugh.
Jesse Minter, former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator, now leads as head coach. The pressure is on him to deliver victories. The Ravens are set to start their pursuit for a Super Bowl win against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, September 13.
