Scott Vander Dussen, a resident near Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz, California, frequently visits the beach with his camera. On a Saturday around 3 p.m., while on one of his regular walks, he heard a sudden and unusually loud wave crash.
During this event, a bystander at Seabright Beach captured on video a lifeguard performing a rescue operation. The footage, taken by Vander Dussen, shows a lifeguard bravely rescuing a child who was caught in the surf.
