Linda Purl, known for her role on “Happy Days,” was recently seen in Los Angeles while celebrating her 71st birthday. She picked up a cake and groceries from Gelson’s Market. Purl is remembered for playing Fonzie’s fiancée, Ashley Pfister, in the iconic sitcom’s later seasons. She also portrayed a different character who dated Richie Cunningham earlier in the series.
Beyond “Happy Days,” Purl appeared on “Matlock” as Andy Griffith’s daughter and as Pam Beesley’s mother in “The Office.” Her acting career continues with recent roles in “General Hospital,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and the film “Hollywood Grit,” featuring Patrick Duffy and Tyrese Gibson.
In addition to acting, Purl explores her musical talent. She released an album, “From My Heart,” featuring Great American Songbook classics and jazz. This summer, she stars in an off-Broadway play, “Crazy Mama,” directed by former “Happy Days” co-star Anson Williams.
Linda Purl and Patrick Duffy, who’ve been together since reconnecting in 2020, co-own a sourdough bread company. Their business, aimed at combating food scarcity, has expanded significantly. After starting small, they now distribute through Kroger, supporting hunger relief efforts substantially.
