A 40-year-old man has been apprehended after allegedly stabbing a woman during a confrontation in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. when the suspect and a 45-year-old woman engaged in an argument inside a residence in the 7200 block of South Hoyne Avenue. Chicago police report that the dispute escalated into a physical altercation.
According to authorities, the man used a sharp object to stab the woman in the neck and abdomen. After the attack, the suspect attempted to escape the scene but was swiftly detained by police officers.
The victim received immediate medical attention and was transported to UChicago Medicine. She is reported to be in good condition. The investigation is ongoing and charges against the suspect are pending.
