Marine veteran Jheyco Borda experienced a life-threatening situation when a group of teens allegedly attempted to rob him in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing one teen pointing a gun at Borda’s face.
Borda described the event, stating, “I was fixing my car — a normal day for me — when the teens approached. One pointed a pistol at my head and demanded my car keys, phone, and other valuables.” Despite the dangerous circumstances, Borda managed to wrestle the armed teen to the ground. A gunshot was fired during the struggle, but fortunately, no one was injured.
Reflecting on how he stopped the attack, Borda credited his Marine Corps training and an adrenaline rush for his quick response. His brother also helped by confronting the teens, as seen on the video.
Borda mentioned similar crimes in his neighborhood, including a vehicle theft at the same location two years ago. “It was right where my car was as well,” he said, indicating the recurring crime issue.
Prince George’s County Police Department confirmed the arrest of two male teens and are investigating the involvement of the other four suspects involved in the crime.
