Deputies in Maryland reported that a woman confronted Taco Bell employees with a firearm after becoming agitated over a delay in receiving her food. Ashley Andrews, 30, was arrested on June 18 after the incident at a Taco Bell located in Chester, Maryland. The Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff disclosed details of the event.
Employees stated that Andrews was annoyed by the prolonged wait time for her order. She then challenged them to meet her outside, lifted her shirt to show a handgun, and gripped the weapon during the dispute. Responding to the staff’s call, deputies detained Andrews and recovered a loaded firearm from her possession. Another person from Andrews’ group was also involved in the verbal confrontation.
Investigators reviewed video footage, including surveillance and personal recordings made by an employee. These visuals supported the employees’ version of events. The altercation took place at a Taco Bell within the Kent Town Market shopping center, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Footage confirmed that Andrews displayed her handgun and continued arguing with staff while her hand was on the weapon’s grip. Andrews was initially held on a $5,000 bond, later posting bail for release. She faces charges of second-degree assault, possessing a handgun, disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment. She has been banned from the Taco Bell property following the incident.
According to legal reports, Andrews is represented by a public defender and has requested a speedy trial. Her court appearance is slated for July.
