A mass shooting occurred in Tucson, Arizona, leaving nine individuals injured, according to police reports.

The incident began around 2 a.m. on Sunday. Officers on patrol were alerted by the sound of gunfire. The shooting happened in the 100 block of East Congress Street. This downtown area is known for its nightlife, including bars and restaurants.
Frank Magos of the Tucson Police Department explained at a news conference that officers immediately ran toward the gunfire. They encountered the suspect as they arrived on the scene.
Response by Law Enforcement
Magos mentioned that officers gave multiple commands to the suspect before one officer discharged their weapon. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the incident.
The nine wounded individuals received immediate aid from officers on the scene. They were then transported to the hospital. All of the victims were adults, with injuries primarily to their extremities.
