Massive Fire Erupts in Allentown, Prompting Evacuations

As of Wednesday night, crews are working to contain a significant fire in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Residents living nearby have been advised to evacuate their homes due to the threat posed by the blaze.

Reports from Lehigh County Dispatch indicate that the fire began around 8:40 p.m. at a defunct commercial building and has since reached a residence across the street. The situation has escalated to a six-alarm fire.

PPL Electric Utilities has cut power in the affected area, leaving approximately 3,600 customers without electricity. Authorities have advised Allentown residents to remain inside and secure. Those living on the 300 block of Front Street are instructed to leave through their backyard exits.

There have been no reported injuries at this point. The situation is ongoing and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
