A military judge recently dismissed part of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s confession. Lt. Col. Michael Schrama made the ruling, stating Mohammed’s 2007 statements to investigators were not provided voluntarily. This decision was reported by the New York Post.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is accused of being the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. He has been detained at Guantánamo Bay since 2003.
This ruling might affect the lengthy process of bringing Mohammed to trial. There have been ongoing delays in moving forward with the trial for this high-profile case.
Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
