Noah Wyle recently shared insights on how he maintains his fitness during the filming of the demanding medical drama, “The Pitt.” In a conversation with Fox News Digital, the 55-year-old actor revealed his exercise regimen and discussed receiving the Hollywood Leadership Award from the Cedar Sinai Board of Governors.
Fitness Routine
Wyle credits his fitness to having an accountability partner, Dash Land, the on-set dresser. He explained, “We do a hundred push-ups every day, come rain or shine. That’s the base.” Wyle tries to add more exercises when possible and recently set a goal to accomplish ten chin-ups by the end of the season. He is currently at six.
“The Pitt” showcases emergency nurses and doctors during a 12-hour shift. The physical demands of the show require the cast to stay in top form. Wyle mentioned that during filming, they work 14-hour days, five days a week, for nine months.
Work Environment and NEAT Exercise
Wyle shared an exercise called NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) to help actors maintain their energy. This method involves noting fatigue, stiffness, and other physical needs during long work hours to manage them effectively.
Recognition and Challenges
Wyle’s dedication paid off as he was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2026. The announcement sparked mixed reactions online. Some praised the choice, while others expressed surprise and disbelief.
Cedar Sinai Honors
The cast of “The Pitt,” including Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, and Sean Hatosy, received honors from Cedar Sinai for their authentic portrayal of emergency medicine. Wyle expressed immense gratitude, recounting personal connections with the institution.
Financial Struggles and Career
Before “The Pitt,” Wyle starred in “ER” alongside George Clooney, appearing in over 250 episodes from 1994 to 2005. In an interview with GQ, Wyle admitted financial struggles despite his “ER” success. He expressed a desire to turn his career into something sustainable and manageable.
