Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate for Ohio governor, encountered harsh criticism from her Republican adversary, Vivek Ramaswamy, in a recent campaign ad. The ad included Acton’s estranged mother, adding a personal element to the political attack.
Acton, who has a history of personal challenges, was once a victim as a child. This background has now come under scrutiny during the campaign.
On a recent visit to Liberty High School in Youngstown, Ohio, Acton, who was the 1983 homecoming queen, received a warm welcome. The gymnasium was filled to its limit as she returned to her alma mater. The Golden Leopard Marching Band played a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in her honor.
