The Ole Miss Rebels had a standout season, yet Kewan Lacy, their star running back, feels it was not successful enough. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Lacy remarked that he evaluates the season based on whether the ultimate prize was achieved. Despite Lane Kiffin’s departure to LSU just before the playoffs, the Rebels managed to navigate through the ensuing challenges. The uncertainty regarding assistant coaches, as many accompanied Kiffin to LSU, marked a tumultuous phase for the team.
Kewan Lacy commented, “We still came up short in the season. The main goal is to get to that national title. But we never really let the outside noise get to us. We just tried to focus on game by game.”
He emphasized the necessity to adapt to the business aspect of football, concentrating on performance regardless of external circumstances. Lacy underlined the importance of maintaining focus and competing on the field irrespective of coaching staff changes. This approach reflects the team’s dedication to pursuing the championship.
Lacy aims for a national title with added protection, the FDA-cleared Q-Collar. The collar, worn around the neck, limits brain movement during head impacts. His mother discovered the Q-Collar and recommended it for Lacy and his brother for additional safety during games.
Lacy noted, “It’s helped me a lot, just trying to find different ways to protect myself, be as sharp as I can on the field and just maximize my playing time.”
The Q-Collar represents an advancement in athlete safety, offering a method to safeguard against injuries, enhancing longevity in the sport. Now, an All-American, Lacy has extra protection to perform his best.
With new and returning players, including Trinidad Chambliss, the expectations are high for the Rebels. Lacy is optimistic, stating, “Going into this year with our new staff we got and all the new pieces we have, I feel like we just got to take it game by game, and this year I feel like we can go even farther.”
Lacy looks ahead eagerly, confident in the team’s ability to achieve their goals.
