Omos, known for his impressive size, left a mark on the WWE fans but has kept away from its rings for the past two years. Instead, he explored other opportunities worldwide. After a stint with Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan, he participated in AAA’s TripleMania 33, winning the Bardahl Cup in Mexico.
His experience in Japan was a stepping stone for his endeavors in AAA. In an interview with OutKick Dropkick before his upcoming match with Rey Mysterio in Las Vegas on Friday, Omos reflected on these experiences. “No, not at all,” he stated regarding any hesitation to join AAA. “Japan prepared me for AAA. It was a unique experience immersing myself in their wrestling culture.”
Omos recently faced a setback in AAA after a suspension resulting from an altercation involving Mysterio, who serves as the AAA general manager. This heated exchange escalated when Omos, present as a paid spectator, entered the fray, stirring further tensions with Mysterio.
The confrontation will renew on Friday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena during Night 1 of TripleMania 34. Omos is eager to reclaim his place on the roster. “I am excited to hand out the greatest a— whooping of this lifetime to Rey Mysterio. I am thrilled,” he declared.
Mysterio, celebrated as one of WWE’s all-time greats and a legendary figure in Lucha Libre, remains unfazed by Omos’ provocations. For Omos, the accolades mean little. “No, I don’t give a damn. It doesn’t matter, no,” he commented.
AAA commentator Corey Graves remarked that the clash between Omos and Mysterio is shaping up as a classic David and Goliath duel, promising drama and intensity as fans await the showdown.
