Photographer Threatens Legal Action Over Viral Image Use

The photographer behind a viral image of Liam Conejo Ramos, which gained significant attention, is considering legal action against a super PAC backing Democratic Senate candidate Angie Craig. The issue arose from the unauthorized use of the photograph by the organization.

On January 28, a protest took place as people marched toward the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas. This facility was where Liam Conejo Ramos was detained, drawing public outcry and significant media coverage.

The widely circulated photo, taken by Ali Daniels, captures a poignant moment. It shows 5-year-old Liam wearing a Spider-Man backpack and a blue hat with bunny ears. The child, along with his father, encountered federal immigration agents in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, earlier in January.

The super PAC in question included the image in its campaign materials, prompting the photographer’s response. Daniels expressed her intent to take legal measures to protect her rights regarding the photograph.
