Public trust in institutions is dwindling, yet many Americans still agree with the Supreme Court’s decisions. As the new term approaches, the Court faces a challenge with public perception.
According to Gallup, as of July, only 33 percent of Americans approve of how the Court is performing. This marks the lowest approval rating in the poll’s 26-year history. Conversely, Marquette Law School’s survey paints a slightly better picture, with 47 percent approval compared to 53 percent disapproval.
These figures echo a broader trend of decreasing trust in institutions, impacting public engagement and perception. Although institutional integrity is crucial, varying opinions on the Court’s rulings reflect the complex public stance.
