Public trust in institutions is falling, but support for the Supreme Court’s decisions remains relatively steady among Americans. As the Court prepares for a new term, it faces significant challenges in public approval.
According to a Gallup poll from July, only 33% of Americans approve of the Supreme Court’s performance. This is the lowest approval rating in the 26-year history of the poll. In contrast, Marquette Law School’s survey shows a slightly more favorable view, with 47% approving and 53% disapproving.
This data highlights a broader trend of declining institutional confidence in the United States. Despite these trends, the American public continues to generally support the rulings made by the Supreme Court.
